Pictures taken with Tokina's 12-24 F/4 Lens.
We needed an
ultra-wide angle lens in no time and Nikon's version was not in stock
anywhere at the time. There are a few other lenses of this kind from
Tamron and Sigma, but we chose Tokina for its constant F/4 aperture.
We found this lens a great value for the money with CA (Color
Aberration) well controlled for an ultra-wide angle lens. We
were among if not the first to use this lens in Puerto Rico shortly
after its release. The lens shows some light fall of at 12mm @ F4,
thin polarizer filters are a must as it might eaily vignette with
regular filters, the same goes if you want to use a UV filter to
protect the lens. Remeber that this is a DX lens and the image circle
will not cover that of a 24x36 full frame camera lens. I seldom go
beyond 17mm but when the situation calls for an ultra wide angle, the
Tokina 12-24 is a great performer.

Nice lens,
must consider if you don't have the $$$ for Nikon's version,
we'd love AFS on it. |
Approx street
price for Tokina's 12-24mm F/4
Ultra-Wide Angle lens: $499.99 USD.
